It is estimated that every week as many as one in six adults experience some sort of common mental health problem – It’s therefore very important that as an industry we are committed to helping and understanding the issues associated with a mental health history.
We are therefore delighted to announce…
SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) is Scotland’s largest mental health charity and believe there is no health without mental health. Around since 1923, SAMH currently operates over 60 services in communities across Scotland providing mental health social care support, addictions and employment services, among others. These services together with SAMH’s national programme work in See Me, respect me, suicide prevention, sport and physical activity; inform SAMH’s policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.
Fiona Lewis, Corporate Partnerships Manager at SAMH said “Our mental health and well being is so important, poor mental health can have the most profound impact on our relationships, our work, our well being and quality of life. 1 in 4 people in Scotland will experience a mental health problem each year which is why it is so important that SAMH provides help, information and support to individuals, families and friends who are experiencing mental health difficulties. SAMH believes that everyone is entitled to hope, choice and to achieve personal fulfillment regardless of past or present circumstances.
