JO ANDERSON
Jo Anderson MInstF(Cert)
Director of External Affairs
SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health)
Jo joined SAMH, Scotland’s national mental health charity, in 2011 to lead on a brand new income generation strategy. Kick starting an era of fundraising and positioning mental health as a cause to support; SAMH is now raising in excess of £2.5million each year from voluntary sources and engaging tens of thousands of people in Scotland who are passionate about mental health.
Taking up a role on the Executive team in 2013, Jo leads on SAMH’s work in public affairs, communications and fundraising. Jo is the strategic lead for SAMH’s award winning campaigns including the ground breaking ‘Two Too Many’ campaign, Scotland’s first ever suicide prevention adverts on day time television; and more recently the ‘Going To Be’ campaign, positioning young people’s mental health as a major issue for Scotland.
Jo has worked in fundraising and communications in the third sector for over 20 years. Prior to SAMH, Jo worked for the NSPCC, Cancer Research UK and CHILDREN 1ST. You can catch up with her @JoatSAMH
