DR DEBBIE SMITH

After a 22-year career in insurance spanning underwriting, claims, rules engines and product development Debbie completed a medical degree. For the last 12 years she has divided her time between NHS clinical practice (as an Acute medicine registrar) and her duties as a Medical Officer in the Swiss Re London office. At Swiss Re she is heavily involved in casework, product development, horizon scanning and complex claims. She is on the committee of the AMUS and presents regularly in that forum.

In her personal life she was an officer in the Auxiliary RAF for 12 years, with deployments to Kosovo and Iraq. More recently Debbie became mum to three adopted children.
